Dance/Performing Arts Rehabilitation at Innova

Innova offers one-on-one, 60 minute appointments with PTs that specialize in dance rehabilitation. Pre-Point Evaluations

Transition to pointe is a key step in the evolution of the developing dancer. Innova offers Pre-pointe evaluations to ensure a safe and successful transition to pointe. We work with the dancer, family and instructor(s) to make sure the dancer is properly prepared. We evaluate the entire musculoskeletal and neuromuscular system as well as technique and control. Often the ballet student may not be optimally prepared at their first assessment for full pointe. That experience should be viewed as an opportunity to identify key areas that need to be addressed to optimize performance and prevent injury.

Innova's pre-pointe assessment is focused on identifying areas of technique or biomechanical restrictions that may be limiting the dancer from performing at their best. Simple stretches and exercises focused on correcting these issues can make a huge difference to the dancer’s classical technique as well as their safety, when progressing onto pointe.

Performance Enhancement
