I come to Innova Physical Therapy having 10 years of experience as a Licensed Massage Therapist. After one Bachelor of Science degree from Oregon State University and a Master of Arts in Theology from Regent College, Vancouver, BC, I decided to pursue massage therapy which seemed to suit my desires and interests best. Since graduating from Brian Utting School of Massage, Seattle, my primary practice has been in medical massage with an emphasis on deep tissue, injury treatment, and structural integration. I have worked with a wide range of clientele (including athletes, builders, fitness instructors, medical and office personnel, professional dancers, teachers, and young people) coming with a wide range of conditions (including post-surgical, MVA and work injury, chronic pain, training for athletic performance, headaches and TMJ disorders). The massage and bodywork I offer for each client is therapeutic and beneficial, assisting in the process of healing and recovery, but also, I hope, educational, bringing insight and awareness that may not have been there before.

Over the last 10 years of practice, I have continued to learn and grow through my experience working at Monroe Therapeutic Massage, as a teaching assistant with Cortiva Institute, on staff with the Pacific Northwest Ballet dancers, working alongside Nicole Schmitt, LMP to learn the “business” of massage, and then owning my own solo practice the last 6 years in Bellevue. Because I love learning, I have continued my education with various courses and trainings to include craniosacral therapy, structural injury work, intraoral and neurofascial techniques. Along the way, I found myself gravitating toward a structural bodywork style and was trained as a structural integrator completing my training December 2011 in KMI (Kinesis Myofascial Integration) through Tom Myers' school Kinesis, Inc. (www.anatomytrains.com).

Having grown up and lived in Montana, Colorado, Nevada and Oregon, I can't help wanting to get outside when I am not working with clients. I love to hike, backpack, run, walk or go for a bike ride, and occasionally get out for a game of soccer. I also enjoy continuing my education in other ways especially when it comes to theological, biblical and spiritual formation practices. You will also find me traveling to see my family and friends in various places around the country and world.
