Experienced Providers

Crafting custom orthotics that are effective and comfortable require extensive training and experience. Innova’s providers have been trained and mentored by Bret Swigard, MPT, OCS, LJLCP, FAAOMPT, COMT, c.MDT who has more than 21 years of experience with custom orthotics and treating diagnosis related to knee, foot, ankles, etc.

Our specialized PTs work hand in hand with you, our orthotics manufacturer, and your other health care providers to ensure quality and efficacy for long lasting results and solutions.

Most insurance plans include custom orthotic benefits. We provide an affordable self-pay discount if your insurance does not include orthotics.

What You Can Expect On Your First Visit

Your evaluation will be one-on-one with your specialized physical therapist who is specifically trained in fabricating orthotics and providing custom education for optimal outcomes. They will inquire about and assess the following:

Detailed History:
Including prior injuries/ surgeries, information/ diagnostics regarding the current pain generator, possible contributing factors, goals, beliefs, etc.

Function Examination:
Gait evaluation, running evaluation (if appropriate), shoe evaluation, posture, alignment, mobility, strength, control.

Biomechanical Assessment:
Mobility and stability testing of every joint in the foot, vector analysis (joint compression assessment), selective tissue testing, pressure mapping (if indicated).

Casting:
Subtalor neutral plaster casting of your feet to create a customized shell/ foundation.

Education:
We will educate you on the findings of the evaluation and work with you to develop a personalized plan of care. We can help you with shoe selection, training, and development of a home program, etc.

Home Program:
We will create an individualized home program designed to address specific contributing impairments which may be perpetuating your condition
